How do I convert RAM files to RM files? When I see the RAM files online, they are video files, but...?

after I download them, they become MP3 files after I try to convert them to MP4 files for my iPod. These are RAM files, videos of a trip my friend and I went on. I want to convert them to MP4 files, as they are videos, but when I try, they become MP3 files. My friend told me to convert them to RM files, but he did not tell me how, and I cannot get in touch with him, as he went to China for his vacation. Can anyone tell me how to convert RAM files to RM files? Both are from Real Player files, but I do not know how to make the RAM files video files, as after I convert them with Media Coder, they become MP3 files, not MP4 files as I requested. Please help!
